Winter Treadmill Guide

Cold weather has set in… at least here in Michigan.  If any of you are like me, you are not willing to let the cold temperatures damper your fitness routine.  Of course, I absolutely love taking my workouts outside, whether it’s going for a run or doing a HIIT training session in my front yard (no shame, whatsoever).  When the snow starts flying, and my yard is covered in ice, this is not really a viable option.  Therefore, like many others, I become a gym and yoga studio rat. 

Don’t let the cold weather stop you from getting in the quality workouts that you enjoy.  If you are someone who likes to do yoga outside during the summer, try Bikram yoga to experience similar temperature sensations.  If you enjoy doing tires, sled pushes, and other outdoor track-type workouts, find a CrossFit facility or a gym that features a functional fitness area – most of these places will offer the CrossFit style equipment you are looking for.  If you enjoy doing sprints outside or simply going for a run, you can get on the treadmill.  I know many people hate the treadmill; hence the name dreadmill.  However, there are some things I actually like about it – you can mix up your workouts and training runs pretty easily; and you can simulate hills with a push of a button.
